Peregrine Marsh
If you spend enough time in Limsa, you’re bound to hear someone talk about a purple-haired privateer named after a bird, smelling of airships and gunpowder. Peregrine’s home is in the sky, but on the days he manages to find land again, he’s always got a story to tell. He's a soft-spoken yet earnest man who'll do his best to make your day better than it was when you arrived, whether that's through a story, a stiff drink, or a little piece of artwork.

appearance
height: 5'9''
weight: 175 lbs
hair/eyes/face
Many have quietly commented upon the man's bizarre appearance over the years. Aside from the obvious pointed ears, Peregrine's sharp cheekbones and broad, narrow facial features highlight his Elezen ancestry. His silver, narrowed eyes were taken from his mother, as were the light freckles scattered haphazardly over his face.
Pere's hair is naturally dirty blonde, but he started dying it a bright shade of violet over the last few years. Why? He wanted the other pirates to remember him in some manner. Apart from that, he just liked the color.
build/physique
At five foot ten, Peregrine is just above average height for a male Hyur thanks to his Elezen blood. He has a slightly stocky, athletic build and is much stronger than he looks after years of swinging around in riggings and medium to heavy labor. He's agile and quick for his build, which he uses frequently to his advantage.
clothing
Given his line of work, Pere doesn't typically worry about being at the height of fashion. You'll mostly find him in simple shirts, pants, and boots at any given time, usually with a pair of gloves out of habit. He has a few outfits hiding in the back of his closet for fancier occasions, but even those are usually simple suits or tops. He doesn't really care to spend a lot on clothes/adornments.
The one item he's found with at all times is his blue crystal earring - his first trophy as a pirate. As for how he got it and what exactly it's made of...he'll tell you a different story every time.
personality
Relaxed, kind, and polite at all times. Has a chill and slightly playful demeanor.
If he has a task to do, he'll see it to completion if he has to exhaust himself doing it.
Wants to help wherever he can and will step up to be a leader if it's needed/encouraged.

rp hooks
sky pirate
Peregrine's currently operating officially as a privateer, but if there's adventure to be had, his crew is on it. Maybe you've seen him in passing, been gracefully defeated by him, or you're all too familiar with the purple haired gentleman pirate. Lots of room for ideas here!
character tropes
Gadgeteer Genius: Knows his way around most things mechanical, including weaponry and airship tech. Could probably figure out Allagan tech if given the chance.
Animal Motifs: The Falcon. He's a problem-solver and an effective leader who doesn't hesitate to jump in to help wherever he's needed.
The Lightfooted: Peregrine is a very....bouncy combatant despite his stocky frame.
The Gunslinger: His preferred weapon is a machinist's pistol.
notable details
mannerisms/quirks
He's a skilled artist, and somewhat shy about it. Doesn't really take commissions - it's purely just something he enjoys doing for fun or to cheer someone up.
Tends to whistle when busy. Usually jaunty, upbeat tunes or dances.
Doesn't really sit down often. You'll have to practically order him to plant his butt in a seat, otherwise he'll constantly be looking for some work to do.
fears
Letting people down. He's a fixer by nature, and tends to take it hard when he isn't able to do that.
Settling down. He isn't sure how long he'll be in the adventuring life, but he doesn't ever want to stop.
Death. For Peregrine, life is something to more or less celebrate. The idea of having it come to an abrupt end at some point is difficult for him to accept.
vices
While not really an alcoholic, he does tend to get into the bottle a few nights a month as a way of soothing his anxieties due to his line of work.
Can be non-committal in relationships due to his fear of settling down. However, he does make this facet of himself very clear before getting into any sort of romantic partnership.
